Skinny Tan Tanning Sensation From Dragon’s Den Hits The High Street

Australia’s hit beauty import Skinny Tan has taken another huge leap forward as it today announces that its full product range is now available on the High Street.

The deal was struck with the help of its Dragons’ Den backers Kelly Hoppen and Piers Linney through Alliance Boots. Having recently launched on, Skinny Tan will now be available in 450 independent Alphega listed Pharmacies nationwide.
The wonder product – the first to combine sunless tanning with naturally derived anti-cellulite ingredients – contours muscles for the ultimate in premium at-home tanning.

The brand became an overnight success after it won the support of Hoppen and Linney on the BBC 2 show last summer. Recently they announced Made in Chelsea’s Lucy Watson as the face and body of the brand.

Recent results of independent consumer trials* of Skinny Tan products have reinforced the Dragons’ sound investment choice, with more than 90% of consumers observing that it smelt better than other tanners and 84% reporting that the product helped to disguise their cellulite.

The company, which was set up by self-titled ‘mumtrepreneurs’ Kate Cotton and Louise Ferguson who have driven the brand’s fast growth in the UK since its launch in August 2014.

Louise Ferguson, co-founder of Skinny Tan, added: “Skinny Tan is an ambitious brand with integrity, that puts customers and their desire to look and feel good at the heart of our business. We’re excited to finally be hitting the high street having launched a year ago in the UK.”

Kelly Hoppen MBE, Skinny Tan investor, said: “Skinny Tan’s presence in the high street and on is very exciting to us and we’re glad customers will have access to this innovative tanning brand.”
Fellow Dragon Piers Linney added: “This is a hugely exciting step forward for Skinny Tan and one that Kelly and I had in our sights from the moment Louise and Kate wowed us with their product on Dragons’ Den.

“We’re delighted to be delivering on our promise and look forward to contributing to more exciting developments for Skinny Tan in the future.”
As well as establishing itself in Britain, Skinny Tan has enjoyed a successful launch in Ireland, where it is fast becoming a high street favourite thanks to its placement in select department stores and a partnership with the country’s leading pharmacy chain McCabe’s.

Skinny Tan is also making strides internationally, attracting ongoing interest from countries all over the world. It has already secured a major retail deal in Spain and has recently shipped orders to Canada.

Along with sunless tanning at home, the company also has plans to launch professional salon spray tans at select locations, for a luxury glow-on-the-go.
